Swanbay Vineyard Update
Hello Sheena
210908
I've been keeping an eye on your beloved property at Swan Bay. Rob has done an excellent job with the cattle and you now(210908) have 4 calves,
3 heifers and 1 bull. Your grapes are in full bud and the Pinot Noir MV6 has burst and is in very early stages of 1st leaf. All loking good. We had about 25mm of rain yesterday and more whilst Margie and I were away in Melbourne over early September 5th-15th.

The last week has seen good rain and the MV6 Pinot is in first leaf generally with shoots of between 4-10cm. Water shoots are starting to burst also and there are some double buds, although less than 10% I think.
The dam level has increased about 30cm from last week. Rainfall 26mm measured from my gauge.
No likelihood of frost over next 4-5 days as forecast is wind and showers.
Rob reported 7 calves (Saturday morning before he checked for additions over night.
I am available next week to do some bud removal and water shoot removal if you wish.
Photos for this week are here.

The last week has seen fine windy weather with little rain.
The vineyard has absorbed the rain of the previous week beautifully and the grass is responding well in lush spring growth.
Vines are looking excellent. Temperatures have been between 2c - 16c, so growth is steady at present. You can see by this weeks photos that the vines are awaiting your return before heading skyward.
