Jon has been a keen angler all his life and enjoys a day fly fishing for trout on Tasmania's rivers and lakes or boating on the Tamar or at Swanwick on the East Coast of Tasmania. Visit the fishing pages to share this interest.
Australia's National Parks and Reserves are very dear to us. I am attempting to collect information about our experiences within these parks that will be helpful to other visitors. The links within the parks list are the parks we have documented.
We have been active food gardeners for 25 years. Our Vegetables pages offers many of our ideas on growing a food garden. Nutrition is a vital factor in good health management and we believe that organically home grown vegetables and fruits gives our body the best chance of resilience.
Growing wine grapes ( pinot noir) in Tasmania's cool maritime climate provides a source of relaxation and a great source of grape juice from which to make wine or to use as an excellent source of fruit sugar in our diet.
Growing native plants from seed is another hobby of ours. Many of the plants in our own garden at Winderdoon have been grown from seed collected from around Tasmania.
For some years we lived on the Murray River, NSW and became keen bird watchers and field naturalists through the Southern Riverina Field Naturalists Club. Jon was a founding members of the Echuca & District Bird Observers and has been a member of The Bird Observers Club of Australia for 21 years.
Our family is naturally special to us and these pages provide a forum for communication when we are far away. |
