| Living in Mountain forests, farmland for grain and
frequenting gardens after fruit, blossom and Hawthorn berries, this endemic
Tasmanian species can be distinguished by a red band over the bill, blue
cheek, throat and under tail coverts. Usually in pairs or parties. They
sometimes gather in large numbers in Winter.Voice in flight "cussick
cussick". Double bell-like whistle when perched.
