  Dusky Robin Melanodryas vittata

Tasmania's Dusky Robin is common in open forest areas adjoining cleared land and will be seen perched waiting to swoop on ground insects spiders and snails. I have seen this species eating seed in winter months. Predominantly brown in colour tones with a pale edging below the bend of the wing. Breast is lighter with slight flecking. Voice is a repeated "choo-wee" .Juveniles are lighter in mottled breast colour with paler streaking above.
